I have 2 454 new big block votac engines 7.4 liter, that i have in a project boat. I am wondering if these engines would fit into a 1983 Sea Ray 355 TAC aft cabin Sea Ray that has the 5.7 liter engines in it now. Can anyone let me know if these engines will fit in this boat?? It is for sale on ebay and needs an engine. My engines are freshwater cooled and 375 horsepower. Thanks for the help!!!

should fit. don't they put big blocks in smaller boats? was there a BB option from the factory? are you trying to hit 40 mph? stay on plane at lower speeds?

Thanks for your replys. I am trying to gather as much information about this project before I get into a deeper hole! I've got 2 good engines in a boat that is junk! It had taken on water due to a prop shaft seal letting go and everything was under water for a short time before they hauled it out. Generator, air conditioning units, electrical wiring and all insde the cabin was under water so it needs total restore and not worth the mkoney for this year boat, So I am looking for another boat that needs engines and or drive trains I can get at a reasonable price to put my good engines in. Hope that this explains my dilema. No boating this season so far..... I assume I will have to remove the floor deck and then the floor in the rear salon which has 2 single beds in it and i think the engines are under the beds!
