She would like a couple blankets to make it a bit more bearable in the cool spring we have (50's and 60's) when out on the boat for a few hours.

Anyone seen a source for a warm, but water proof blanket? I found one with nice fuzzy polar fleece on the inside and a nylon wind and water resistant layer on the opposite side, but it was $120 and intended for boats with heater hoses (never knew about those before)

Thanks
Alan

Alan,

Why mess with a waterproof blanket? If you're out on the water and it's in those temps I'd suggest keeping the speed down so mama doesn't get sprayed. You know the old saying--"If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody gonna be happy."

If you avoid her getting sprayed she'll be happy (and warm) in a nice polarfleece blanket. Also, to keep things warmer, get a snap-on cover for your open bow and make sure it snaps up securely at the windshield. It will amaze you how much warmer that keeps it inside the cockpit.

BTW, what part of the PNW are you in? And question #2, why make that a secret? We all like to see what city other CSR members live in and the areas where they boat.

Tell her you need a bigger boat...one with a heated cockpit area and side curtains ;)

We bought a couple of fold up and zip into a cushion, microfibre blankets from 'Kathmandu' an outdoor adventure chain of shops here. For exactly that

Well, this escalated quickly!

Any blanket that keeps her on the boat is the perfect blanket!

I usually stay pretty quiet on comments like this but really? ! I think u should get a life. Its a legitimate question coming from somebody trying to keep his significant other happy! And if you really had the urge to say something that nasty for no aparent reason u obviosly hate your own life! Keep your miserable comments to yourself

We have Knitted blankies by the Wifes mother, custom colors to match the boats interior....Life's Good!!!
Always put on board what makes the wife Warm and Happy....Always..
Exactly I'll do anything and buy her anything she wants if it enhances her life on the boat, She always uses her blankies...Even in the summer months with cooler evening and She doesn't want to get out of her bikini... Yeah I'll wrap her up in her Fav blankie...Why Not..
Carbo... totally uncalled for, and we just don't tolerate your comment, if you've got nothing good to say stay out of the thread it's just that simple....Like getting your wife blankie it's just that simple...
I even go to Craft shows with my Wife....

^agreed. That guy is a Richard.

I use hospital blankets. Not the thin "bath blanket" ones and not the wool "moving blankets" type but the heavy knit ones. They have some open holes but that just keeps you from over heating. They work great for beach blankets too. When it's cooler we put them down on the vinyl and when it's hot they keep you from sticking to it.

We have a bunch of blankets onboard, nothing fancy. Anything that helps get time on the boat..........I'm all for it! Ignore the rude comments and do what you need to enjoy time boating with your wife.

Carbo, that was totally uncalled for. Especially from someone with only 119 posts and who boats in AZ. Why don't you take your ill mannered self and find a different field to play in.

Alan, I hope you don't let one jerkoff keep you from hanging around CSR. You can see by the responses he got to his comment that comments like that aren't welcome on here.

Wally World blankets worked well for us.

PS, I thought I was the only one that could pizz you guys off.

Maybe Carbo was having a bad day and it didn't come out quite like planned. He has never posted like that before so I'll cut him a little slack. This is not to imply I agree with him.

Maybe he was posting while drunk. ?.
