Why is this? Engine temps different...

We were just sitting around talking about out engine temps. 4 different boats, all with twin motors, a pair of 454's with closed cooling, a pair of 350's with closed cooling, a pair of 318's with raw water cooling, and a pair of 170's with closed cooling. All 4 of us said that out Port motors run 10* to 15* warmer then the Stbd motors. We are not overheating, all running fine. Just curious if others see the same and why this would be?

Is that verified with an IR gun that the engine is actually running hotter? Coincidental, my port gauge shows 5 degrees warmer, but the on board mechanicals are spot on the same.

All of my port guages read a bit low... 5psi of oil pressure..10 degrees of temp ..1/8 tank fuel and 200 rpm...
I suspect a bad ground to the guages or small voltage drop.

Interesting...both my engines are within 1-2 degrees of each other. All other vitals are near identical. I have twin 5.0mpi that are FWC.

Ok, but why would others on the dock have basically the same thing going on.

There is another 300 Weekender in the marina that just had the entire cooling system done. His boat runs the same temp as mine, by the gauge, his is not verified by the IR.

Do you have water heaters mine is on the port so my port runs 8 degrees lower then my starboard do to the extra load of the cooler water in the water heater also see higher pressure due to the higher head of the water heater exchanger.
