Why are the "OFFICIAL 240 or 330, or 270" or similar Threads misplaced....

I mean no disrespect to anyone who started a topic dedicated to a specific model of Sea Ray, but posting a topic such as "Official 240 Sundancer thread" or "Official 330 Sundancer thread" and the like within the main topic thread of "Sport Cruisers" makes the subjects posted to these dedicated sub-threads hard to follow or search. Mainly because there is no place to post a title for a specific subject like "windlass install" or "Porti Potty Issues" for example and then have the replies all be under this title and follow in sequence. Instead the reply sequence is interrupted by posts unrelated to the original subject! Right? Can these specialty titles be their OWN topic?? I mean can the "Official 240 Sundancer" title be located at the same level in the forum as "Sport Cruisers?? Once again, no disrespect to anyone that started these specific threads in the Sport Cruiser topic. Just a thought.....

I don't think the system software allows that kind of "sub threads". "a specific subject like "windlass install" or "Porti Potty Issues" these types of questions have principals apply to many vessels, many Sea Ray's have Vacuflush systems so that type of question is not model specific. The model threads are mainly for issues for that model. The best way to search the site for threads is an advanced Google search of just this site.

The idea behind the "official" threads is to provide information and discussion that is specific to that year and model. Things like windlass install should be discussed in the general category or something similar.

Thanks for the thoughts and tips on the advanced Google search, but i think my point was slightly missed. For topics that apply specifically to the 240 Sundancer (I can't think of one just now) the placement of the specific thread as I suggested would be much better (IMHO). But the fact that the software running this forum will not accomodate my suggestion makes this a moot point. BTW.. I love this forum...everyone is just great and very helpful!

Just find your official 270 thread and then use "Search thread" to find your porta potty items, if there are any. Not much different than its own forum topic. Also, since many issues apply to tother models, it is usefull to have them in the same forum.

There is a thread for general maintenance issues such as toilets . The model specific threads will have to do more with wiring diagrams, how to remove panels , and the like.
