I was searching around for a small crane that could lift 1,000lbs. What manufactures should I look at ? Who makes these ?

yes its for the boat. I am sure everyone has seem them - people use them to lift dinghy's from the water to the hardtop. I am think it goes on the swim platform to lift a jetski. then build an extension to the swim platform for the jetski to sit on.

I have used three different models from Nautical Structures. If you go the route of mounting on the hardtop, you will definitely want the hydraulic boom assist optiong (more $$$). If you mount this on your swim platform, the manual raise (of the boom) with the electric winch would probably work fine. I have also used one from another manuf. that escapes me right now, the unit had a hydraylic winch, hydraulic boom lift and power turning capabilities. That was nice!
