I had the chevette, total piece of crap! Clutch after clutch after clutch!

My best friend had a Gremlin we cruised around in during our high school years in the early '70s. 3-speed manual. It was fun for a couple of 16 year olds. My dad owned 2 Chevettes in the late 70s. I took it from MD to New Orleans and back for the 1979 Sugar Bowl without any issues.

Funny how there are no Honda's or Toyota's on that list. I haven't owned any of those POS cars on the list, but I have owned a Ford Escape at one time....it should have been on the list.

No Mercedes on there either. I was surprised to see an Excursion on the list. Their owners all seem to love them. I don't know who the heck posted this thread and article but it sucks. LOL

Apparently big media cannot even do an article on the 50 worst cars and trucks without inserting politics and their opinion. There was nothing wrong with the Excursion they just don't like it for political reasons.

"GM had its H2. Ford had the Excursion, a Mount Rushmore-sized SUV based on the company's Super Duty truck platform. Dubbed the Ford "Valdez" by the Sierra Club, the Excursion was a passenger vehicle of gob-smacking proportions. It weighed 7,000 lbs, measured almost 19 ft. long and stood 6.5 ft. tall. At the time, Ford argued that many of its customers — ranchers, farmers, um, tugboat enthusiasts — needed a vehicle this big with over 10,000-lb. towing capacity. Maybe that was true, but that didn't keep Suzy Homemakers from driving them to the mall. To its dubious credit, the Excursion pioneered the use of the blocker bar, a kind of under-vehicle roll bar designed to keep the Excursion from rolling over anything unfortunate enough to be hit by it. The Simpsons wrote the Excursion's cultural obituary in the episode where Marge buys the "Canyonero." "Can you name the truck with four wheel drive, smells like a steak and seats thirty-five...Canyoner-oooo!"

F/n libs can't imagine anyone pulling a 10,000 pound load. Go back to your studio apartment...

My mom had a beige 1961 Corvair, year before I was born. She had it until trading up to a 1969 Nova. It was blue. Both had absolutely NO options. Completely stripped down.

I had two vehicles from the list but mine were different years. First was a 1965 Corvair when I was in the service in AK. It ALWAYS started no matter how cold it got.

The second was my 1998 Exploder that I still own and keep in AZ. It's probably been the most trouble-free vehicle I've ever owned. It now as about 113K on it and drives like new.

You guys in the US are lucky, as over here we had to suffer from British cars which, without many exceptions were all a POS.

Things are better now as most manufacturers are able to be sourced here.

Mom had a Pinto that she actually liked. Dad bought a AMC Pacer and kept it less than a month. Not sure what he was thinking there. I would add the Chevy Vega my older brother had - I still remember him adding a quart and sometimes more at every fill up. The Vega was my first look at pistons scored all to pieces.

in my poor days i had a amc matador.:wow:. i couldn't get laid with a 100 dollar bill with that car. :smt089

My BMW X5 should be on the list. One of the best to drive and the worst to own.

Guilty of a 1970 gremlin. We had fun with it, except when it rained. Vacuum windshield wipers would stop when stepping on the gas, which I was prone to doing a lot of when I was 17. Those were the days...

I haven't owned any, yeah!!

I am surprised that the Audi 5000 didn't make the list, with its "sudden acceleration issues".

That said, I owned a number of Audi 5000s and loved them all ...............

My wife has totaled a Pinto. I bought her a 2001 Aztek that I am still driving. Its a nice car built by engineers with no help from the designers. I also have a 1998 7 series but its a lot better than the 2002. She had a yellow Vega when I Married her.

My ex wife came home from her uncles car lot with a chevette. Bad brakes, holes in the exhaust and a gas leak. Inside smelled like dead dog. I said youre not putting my kids in that car, eventually we gave it to some kid.
My 83 rampage should be on the list.
Other than that im at 0 of 15ish cars Ive owned.

Add to the list any late 90's Cadillac with a northstar engine .My deville at 95,000 miles cooling system decided it was time to explode even though I did ever thing to the system according to proper maintenance. I should have listened to the internet warning me of this. Car was spotless with a blown head gasket that cost more then it was worth to fix.
