Just placed a order for a new 2015 260 Sundancer "In Deep III". On the last 2 boats got my lettering from Boatus, just wondering if there is a better choice.

I have used BoatUs with good results. Most recently I used a local graphic design firm. The cost was about $160 and included install of the boat name and registration numbers on two sides.

A local auto trim shop does vinyl lettering. The shop specializes in window tinting, pin striping & the like. I was able to walk in and choose the exact font, color & size. I think it took 15 minutes and cost $20.

Not just with this, but with a lot of things, I like to be able to put my hands & eyes on the product. It worked out wonderfully!

Boats R US. Came out great, and I got a couple extra decals to dress things up.

We use a local sign shop called "Auto Art". It's a franchise and they specialize in signage and wraps for commercial vehicles. Their software programs allow them to replicate pretty much anything from the big screen to even images that you conjure up in your mind. They'll work with you until the prototype is exactly what you want and they will also install the decals too if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. We usually install the smaller ones ourselves but get them to handle the larger ones or the wraps. Average cost for reg numbers is about 25 buck CD, we paid 40 bucks CD for the "Lollygaggin" decal on the back of the 240, and most of the multicolor decals on our trucks run about 300 bucks CD (check out "Idealease" websites for a sample) I've heard lots of good stuff about the BOATUS product and service too. Good luck.

A friend of mine owns a sign shop. I was charged actual cost - $10.00 for materials.

What kind of dimensions for a 320 Sundancer..not sure how tall to make the letters...

If the boat is Federally Documented there is a minimum height requirement. I don't recall at this point, but it is in the regulations. If the boat is state registered you can do whatever you want.

I've used Boat US a couple of times. I always order the second set for 50%of the original. For Coast Guard documentation the boat name must be no less than 6" tall and the hailing port no less than 4". There is also some language regarding the type of font but I rarely see it enforced however, it does need to be legible.
