I made the mistake of bumping my Cockpit light switch with the engine cover and it broke.

Is this a universal switch? or Searay specific? Ive been searching online and cannot seem to find anything close to this.
Just need to be pointed in the right direction on my options.

Did you try super gluing it back on?

That was the first thing that came to mind but I assumed it would fail again due to the resistance of operating the switch since its a lot heavier to operate than a light switch.

I should probably remove it the next time I'm at the boat and get a part number or maybe try to glue it. No harm in trying!

Your signature doesn't mention model or year, but I suppose it's safe to assume that the boat is 30-some odd years old? This might be a tough one... to still find a matching toggle switch. You might get lucky with a marine salvage yard (google that). Or... are you using both of those Acc switches? Or is there something else that you always leave in the "on" position or is unused? You could swap toggles.

But...... that switch looks more like a breaker switch than a normal toggle switch. If it is a breaker, then there WON'T be a corresponding fuse for that circuit. In that case, it kinda reminds me of a Blue Seas breaker switch (check their website). Even if it's not a an actual breaker, you could still use a breaker (if that Blue Seas matches up).

Looks like the breakers on my '89 dash. I found them at West Marine and I imagine almost all marine stores will have them. Blue Seas was the brand I got I think. Easy change out; shut off the main battery switches, pull the panel, remove those two screws and the the wires on the back and reinstall the new one, done.

While you're at it, get some new waterproof switch covers boots for that toggle switch, its shot and needs replacing.

If you have to much trouble finding them PM me your name and address and I will send you some free. I bought 2 panels on EBay years ago and I have spares.

Yes. I've used it on some plastic materials where it bonds unbelievably. On other plastic materials it didn't do much at all. Tell me why in this situation it would hurt to try.

One word leverage. I do agree that super glue is good on some things but not that.

They are switch duty breakers. Be sure you are ordering breakers and not switches. Additionally, those flat head screws above and below each switch are they way they mount to the panel mount. Be sure what you are ordering has the same distance between the holes. The original switches were Carling.

I ended up buying the new breaker but before it arrived I did try the Locktite Gel Super glue. I applied a nice amount on both ends and then also coated the hairline areas with a few coats. I came back to the back this past weekend and the switch operated fine. I don't think the pressure/Leverage is that strong on this particular breaker to even stress the bonding point.

If it does break I have the new breaker but I really didn't want to dig into old wiring and panels if I didn't need to in the first place. When I do this on cars things start to crumble lol
