Okay, so I'm pulling my hair out once again with my generator start switch. Some of you may remember assisting me last year in finding the unicorn in the forest - a new gen 4 monoplex generator module which I thought was causing my generator start problem. As it turns out, it was not, as the switch was simply shot.

Cue the follies and several months later, I have purchased 3 switches and none of them seem to "wire up" correctly.

From the parts manual, I bought the following:

Flounder Pounder -
1. VMDA-2 OFF/ON/(ON) Doube pole rocker switch with independent clear lamp in position #1 Sea Ray part# 758045 generator start/run ignition, which did not start the generator in the correct sequence.

Marine Max provided me guidance on these -
2. VMDA-2 OFF/ON/(ON) Doube pole rocker switch with independent clear lamp in position #1 Sea Ray part# 799305 generator start/run ignition, which also did not start the generator in the correct sequence.

3. VMDA-2 OFF/ON/(ON) Doube pole rocker switch Sea Ray part# 670521 which also did not start the generator in the correct sequence.

I've now got almost $75 in switches and still can get the right one.

Can somebody lead me in the right direction?

My old switch is working but the light finally burned out and I want to replace it, but I don't want to experience what you went through... Any updates ?

I hate to admit it but I finally gave up on it.

If you could do me a huge favor though, I might be able to figure it out - can you take a photo of the wiring to your switch?

It is possible that I messed up reading the diagram and put the wires on in the wrong place (I don't think so, but I'm willing to double check,)
