I have an 01 380 with CAT 3126TAs and it's equiped with the 500 Racors. I want to keep spares around- which replacement filters should I get- 2, 10 or 30 micron?

I found the answer to my own question:

Racor's genuine aquabloc filter media is engineered to repel water and remove solid contaminants before they can damage precision engine components. Racor aquabloc elements are available in different lengths for various flow rates and color-coded for 2, 10 and 30 micron. The lower the micron rating, the finer the filtration. Lower micron ratings should be considered when there is no additional downstream filtration.

Ultimately, the micron rating preferred will be a function of fuel quality, operating climates and maintenance schedules. Thirty-micron (pm) is recommended when the turbine series will function as water separator and primary filter. The ten-micron (tm) can be used for primary or secondary/final filtration depending on the engine and/or the application. The two-micron element (sm) is secondary/final filtration
