Todd, my response about "forget about it" was aimed at (at least the way I read his initial comment) his statement about only needing some extra help once in a while. Dropping in pitch (unless someone would take the time to switch propellers back and forth - albeit not hard - just a little inconvenient) is a "permanent" solution. This, of course, leads to higher fuel usage, higher engine noise, higher RPMs, (blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada) when it is not really needed. I offered the tab suggestion as (again, at least the way I read his statement) I felt it would better suit his needs and also that he may not know about the tabs. You know, from having boats with tabs, that you'd likely never go back (at least I wouldn't) to a boat without them - between the better hole shot, improved ride quality in choppy waters... more blah, blah, blah stuff.:smt001
That being said, I do like the Hi-5. It is a very nice prop. I just question dropping pitch for an occasional use when a pair of $150 tabs will actually give him a better hole shot and also hold plane better. But, again, the Hi-5 is indeed a nice prop.
Oh, and Kermit, don't worry about the holes - you've got tons of them in your boat already!
