We would like to re-do the carpet in our boat, up top, and would like to do it our self. Does anyone know where to buy 12' goods with the rubber backing?

Thanks!

Don't bother with the stuff with black rubber backing, it is crap, especially in a hot climate. The black stuff melts and welds itself to the deck. Three cans of MEK and several hours later you will have cleaned it off.

Go to http://www.corinthianmarine.com/carpet/index.php and buy their Aquamat product, it is a million times better and will last a lot longer.

Rgds Nick.

I ordered mine from snapincarpet.com based on recommendations from users in this forum. I'm extremely happy with my carpets. I too had issue with the black backing. I decided on the clear ribbed backing that is offered by snapincarpets.com. Photo -

I've had no issues with back sticking to the fiberglass. They now offer you the ability to rent the snap installation tool. I had my marina do it for me instead.

DO NOT get rubber backed carpet, you will be sorely disappointed and have a mess to clean up later on! Always use a vinyl ribbed 'Aqualoc' backing, like the pic above. Give me a call or check out www.corinthianmarine.com . We're offing 25% off all custom fit Aquamats through the end of the month too.

 snap in carpet....

clear ribbed backing is definitely the only way to go.
