I bought a spare for my Shoreland'r trailer for my 185 sport, and I can find a space to mount it.

What have you other 185 owners done about your spare tires?

I would mount it like in the picture i've attached. You can find the mount kit at many marine stores.

Thanks for the suggestion and the picture.

I have the mounting kit.

Did you wedge something behind the wheel to make it angle away from your boat?

Shoreland'r has a special mount that is angled to fit snugly under the hull of your boat. Check with your dealer. Be careful about using any other mount - many of which are meant to handle small wheels. A heavy wheel and tire like yours could brake the welds on a cheap mount and send your wheel flying down the highway.

Stick with the Shoreland'r mount for safety!

You definitely want the one Shel suggested. No wedge needed! I got that same one at Cabela's (Item # IK-012740) for $60.

Thanks for the info guys!. This kind of exchange of information is what is great about discussion groups.

My Marine Max only carried a Fulton mount that did not have the angled offset. They could not find the Shorelandr part number.

I ordered the mount from Cabellas for $60.

BTW: The Shorelandr web page stinks. they need to fire their web designer and start over. Finding parts is almost impossible.
