Where to find a new/used EIM unit for a Sundancer 300?

Hello everyone.

Bought a nice Sundancer 300 - 2003 where the plastic hood over one of the fuses on the forward EIM unit where missing. And therefore destroyed by water.

Where is it possible to get a replacement EIM? New, or used.
My part manual lists pn: 1718629
But on the Elec Interface Module-EIM it states: 1447598

I didn't have any luck searching in here, or Google, on the subject.


Is it possible to get a wire diagram for the unit?
And the coding/program for the IC's? I don’t see any problem making an EIM myself. I have excess to making a new motherboard, fuses, and all kind of IC's, and coding. But I guess that's a longshot, and a replacement is the only real option.

I see that its used on many of the other Sundancers.
And that repearing the one I have is almost imposible due to the programing on one of the ICs.

Not a clue where you could get one of these. Try calling Sea Ray and checking with them. They might have one or be able to refer you to the original supplier. Building your own will be a problem since you don't know the communication protocol used between the panel and module, so even if you can write embedded processor code, you don't know half of what you're trying to code.

If you are lucky, you can read the part number codes and get a bill of materials which is part of the battle. If you're really really lucky you can extract the CPU or ROM and read the existing code. Most modern microcontrollers have sufficient NVRAM on-board that external ROMs aren't used. Worse, the microcontrollers can be set to disallow reading the embedded code.

Anyone know the price for this unit in US?
Noone of the dealers I contacted in USA has answered yet.

Only 2 dealers here in Norway. And the price was $1400:smt119

A worker in an neighboring countrie dealer has one at home "like new" for $610. ($770 new in the store.)

If the US price new is well under $610. I might as well just order it from US.
