Only had the boat for a week and discovered that it is a pain to take the eisenglass canvas cover off and put it back on. Living in Tampa, it appears that I will not be using the canvas very often. Besides that, the eisenglass does very little to protect the cockpit and vinyl from the Florida sun. What should I be concerned about in just using a cockpit cover?

Where is a good place to buy a cockpit cover?

Great lakes just ended their spring 25% off sale...maybe if you're real nice they'll extend it for you???

Very easy to deal with folks and they've got all the specs for our boats (OEM) so you know you'll be getting a "factory quality" product.

I use my cockpit cover all summer. I only use the eisinglass when it is foul weather out. Takes me less than 5min to take it out and snap it on. It doesn't let any sun on the interior which I like.

As stated above, Great Lakes boat tops is the place to get it.

I use the camper enclosure from November to April then switch to the cockpit cover. For some reason the cockpit gets dirtier faster with the cockpit cover vs. the camper enclosure.

I've got a cockpit cover and have only ever used it once. When the weather is questionable I like being able to leave my glass up but remove the back. And when whether is downright crappy I can still easily access the boat with the full canvas up vs crawling/shimmying under the cockpit cover.

I suspect it depends on how you use the boat. My family uses our boat like a condo in the summer. The pool at the marina is warm whether it rains or shines. As is the cabin on our boat...
