I am in the process of converting over to AGM Batteries. I am looking for 3 group 31 AGM's such as Lifeline. Does anybody have recommendations of who has good prices?

I ordered my optima agm's from amazon... glad to see you're going with the lifeline.... this google shopping search looked good.... free shipping... but I have not dealt with them personally.

I have also been looking to switch over. I have the Group 27, I don't see them at Sears. I wonder why, I guess I should see if the 31s fit? JG

Sears has them, Group 31 Marine AGM's $250 each. Here is a link. I use them in my boat, and well worth it!

I also just purchased 4 AGM's from Sears, same specs as the Odyssey batteries. Actually talked to Odyssey and they told me they make them for Sears, not sure if that is true but anyway.

Batteries listed as $249, but if you have the old cores they give you $10 for them as well, so new price is $239. At least they did for me anyway.

Sears also offers a FULL REPLACEMENT 3 year warranty, pretty tough to beat that.

I got the same deal last season, ordered them online and picked them up at the store location on my way home from work. They gave me the $10 off even though I did not exchange. Brought them home, installed on the boat, and in an hour all was well.

I'm with Hack, Sears had the best warranty last spring when I was looking. I even bought one for the genny.

Thanks, everyone. I will follow the leads.

Is there a big difference from grope 31 interstate batteries ?

I bought 5 a couple years ago and they are great, no problems. You cant beat Sears for service, they are still just about everywhere. I hear WalMart is really putting a hurtin on them and they are looking to start a new marketing campaign. My understanding is they want to turn retail into storage and push the customer interaction on-line while having local pick up. The best of both worlds soto speak, sounds good.

Okay I will bite?

How does one tell if it is a GEL or AGM battery. I looked at the Sears link posted in this thread and I did not see anything stating GEL versus AGM as to the type of battery?

Another Vote for the Sears AMGS. If u do a comparison of the sears vs any other they really shine !! ( lol )

Also if u hold for a store sale the automotive dept will honor it .

That's like asking how you tell the difference between a chocolate donut and a vanilla donut...

It's either AGM or Gel... different batteries...

Read the product descriptions for the batteries on the Sears site and it will tell you. You need to know that AGM = absorbed glass mat.

If you have a Sam's Club near you, they might be worth checking out. Our local club has some last week ( I dont recall the group number...might have been 27's), but they were the blue top, in either deep cycle or starting...and they were priced around $156.00.

Our Sam's carries them about one week a month.
