Where is the windlass battery located on '98 EB?

New boat owner 1998 440 Express Bridge. Can anyone confirm for me where the battery for the windlass is located... and is it connected to the battery charger? Seem like the battery is dying (windlass is barely responding). Would appreciate any insight.

Our '98 450DA has the windlass connected to the 4 main house/motor batteries and when engaging it the motors are always running. Poor power could also be corroded connections.

+1 on corroded connections. LOTS OF AMPS required. Need really clean / tight connections

Joe,
The windlass on my 450 EB (built in 98) is connected to the house batteries. As stated above, check your connections. Is it slow with both the helm switches and the deck switches? Have you checked the power at the windlass with a meter? There is also a possibility that the 24 year old motor is on its last legs.
