Picked up the boat Tuesday night and could not find where my plate is supposed to mount on the trailer. No obvious holes, no brackets, no evidence where the prior owner had the plate.

So where does it mount, or what am I missing from where to bolt it on?

Thanks
ALan

It's there. There's a metal tab under (in front of) the port side rear light. A "license plate bracket" will attach to that, and the plate to the bracket.

Correct unless someone has modified it. There should be a.small metal tab under the drivers side rear light, this light will also light the plate. You may need to buy a plate mounting plate to attach to that tab.

Many trailers have a bracket that mounts under the tail light itself and extends down below it so the plate is under the tail light, thereby using the tail light as the plate light as well. You might look to see if it is sheared off as many are just cheap plastic. You should be able to get the mounting bracket from any trailer shop, though they are usually only sold with a light in big box stores.

FYI, the plastic license plate brackets will be about $3 or $4 and the metal brackets will be a few bucks more. These are the things that attach to the actual trailer frame bracket by the light.

Thanks guys, I took some photos early this morning and in one of them with the phone down low I might just see the mount you guys mentioned under that light!
