I finally learned how to post pictures...here is where I chose to mount my Magma on the swim platform. It keeps the mounting hidden, and incase dinner goes bad, a quick place to dunk the whole thing. It works for me...OK no comments on the charred foil on the grate....that wasn't dinner!

That a nice idea...Does the hatch get in your way during operation?
Wheels are turning for my little Sudeck..

Weave - The hatch has never been a problem. Originally I thought of mounting the bracket further out but thought it would be a potential toe stubber.

This winter I want to find a good sized white cutting board and make a table that temporarily hooks into the hand rail on the transom locker door.

too bad you weren't closer.....I have literally hundreds of feet of that stuff at work. Use it for curing prosciutto hams!

I can not tell from the angle, but does it hang over the side? Was just thinking of a grease drip or some other nastiness on that white platform.... and if it does, how comfortable is it to use? Just looks like you are bending way down and having to reach out?

Shrike - Half of the grill is beyond the end of the swim platform. I keep my grill pretty clean so there isn't any grease drips...grease splatter from burgers has never been an issue . As for comfort, it is about the height of an average chair...or you can be real lazy and sit on your a$$ with your feet in the water and wave as the boats go by while dinner is on the grill.

A tip for grease spills is keep a cheapie rubber floormat on board. They're handy for other stuff too, like providing a mat to keep the dinghy's outboard engine prop from scuffing the deck when moving it around. Or as a quick guest mat when the dock's really dirty or the shore's been muddy.

Great!

Looks a lot lower in that picture.

Good idea for the floor mat too Kearney.

Stray cat,

Nice idea. Do you have the model number for the stand & mounting bracket?

Thanks,
T

We hang the grill off the starboard side. The reason we choose this spot is we have kids (plural) and they climb up the swim platform ladder and jump back in. The side location keeps the grill close to the sink area too.

When not in use we take the grill off.
