I'm looking at a new charger but have decided to add the inverter feature as well. I see a ton off places where you should not put the inverter / charger ie. it must be close to batteries - heavy guage wire only etc, not in the engine compartment etc. So where did you guys end up putting it where it met all the criteria for a good install?

What inverter are you going for Don?
I have a small 300W inverter. Runs a tv no problem.
What wattage are you thinking and what would you run from it?

On my last boat it was prof installed in the bilge, adjacent to the battery bank, with lots of air circulation around it. Never blew up, but it was a marine inverter.

Thats kinda what I thought. I am looking at the Xantrex and the Promariner marine grade - 1000-2000 watt inverters. I just need power for TV/Micro occasionally. Each of these "marine" inverters specify - no bilge mounting. I really dont want to mount it in the cabin and run wires back and forth into the bilge.
