They look sooo roomy when you first bring them home, then stuff a few life jackets, some fishing poles, fish net, cooler, requirements by the CG, fender bumpers, ropes etc.

Photos would help. I'm in a 04 180BR.

BTW does that reclining passenger side seat come OFF so you can get full access to the storage there?

Lol, yeah there never is enough room I think - I had that problem in my previous 1990 180 BR I had.

We just got a new 190 Sport, and am lucky in that it has some really generous storage space. First the bench seat has an insulated cooler under it that works very well, saves us having to walk around a bulky cooler any more.

Well lets see, I have a pretty roomy port and starboard storage compartment in the aft part of the boat, the starboard one I keep all the life vests in it - the port side, I keep the Magma grill, and my extra oil and drive lube, along with our canvas bag of goodies we normally take with us - snacks and such.

Under my front bow seats:
I keep the anchor and it's line under the front middle seat cushion, then I keep the required items - throw cushion, first aid kit, mooring lines, under one of the bow cushions, and some miscellaneous items under the other.

I keep the paddle and pole I have, under the ski locker in the middle of the boat ( aft navigation/anchor lite is mounted in there as well).

So far it has only been the two of us, but that aft port storage compartment is plenty big enough for several more life jackets.

Hopefully someone will come along with a model closer to yours that can share how they organized their various items.
I noticed in another thread you just recently picked this boat up - congratulations and welcome to the forums!

When are you taking her out?

Hmmmmm:smt017. I think you may be developing twofootitis. Ya see, the stuff you have now will fit into a 200. But by the time you use your 200 you'll have more stuff and will need a 220. And it goes on like this until the end of time. That's part of the fun.

Bigger boat, my 320 has plenty of storage.

My 2 foot itis is tempered by no fit in the shop syndrome!

Plan to hit a local lake tomorrow, will start the boat in the yard with the muffs first to get a better handle on first time etc. Been trying to figure out how to strap the required cooler onto the "swim" platform.

Also thinking I would like some head rests on the seats for when I really recline back.

Don't listen to any of these guys.

Bigger Boat.....yeah right.......that just means more stuff!

I seem to have a one way conveyor belt to the 330, every time we go to it, stuff goes on board, but less stuff returns home.

At least when I had an 18'r, it came home, and everything got unloaded

An old boater once told me the rule of bringing stuff on a boat. It must serve 2 perposes and when you bring on a new item you take an old one off.

Hi: We had a 2004 180 Sport that we just sold in August of last year...do you have any pictures?
You have a single captain's chair and the back-to back lounger, with the jump seats on either side of the motor box? If so, we put the cooler just behind the captain's chair (and used it to sit on during trips).

We stuffed life jackets in the storage under the front seats in the bow; a bit tight but good if you can fit a couple you're not using in there.

Another idea is to use the gunwales as much as you can. There should also be a mesh net under the glovebox on the port side. That area is so deep that we used to stuff a few things there as well. You could also use the same area under the helm.

I'm biased, but it's a great boat and you'll enjoy the heck out of it. Hope this helps!

Would love to find a dual purpose for all that stuff! Fishing poles, and life jackets take up a lot of room for sure.

I think with a bit of thought I can make some sort of tube, and maybe a piece 2" pex with some spacer and zip ties to hold them way up those gunwall channels.

Also thinking of how to get a mesh bag up under the driver's area as well, and that would help as well.

PFDs you should be wearing them and you can get the inflatable ones that are no bigger than a baggy shirt. If you put them in a bag the CG may not like that as they need to be readly available. Fishing rods you can get racks that the poles snal into along the side of the boat. If you have not used it on 2 trips you do not need it on the boat. When we sold our 28 footer we had a pickup box full of stuff. Most we never knew we had. Our biggest tiems are spare parts and tools.

Don't believe that old wives' tale. You just go out and buy as big of a boat as you want. That's what moorings are for. The shop is to store the stuff that won't fit in your existing boat until you buy your next boat.

Been trying to figure out how to strap the required cooler onto the "swim" platform.

I permanently attached two small stainless eyes on my swim grid and lashed the cooler with 3/8 line. Use a small block of plastic (from scraps at "Industrial Plastics") as backings for the eyes and make sure ya seal the holes with 4200 or something.

I just searched WM to see what those little eye things are called but I couldn't find them. I got them from the "SparPac" display at the Sea Ray dealer.

Also thinking I would like some head rests on the seats for when I really recline back.

Again, bigger boat and recline in the cabin:grin:

arw01,

They're called "eye straps" 212415.jpg

They're great for temporarily lashing a small fuel tank for a fishing kicker too.

Set up is a little different on mine, I have the 2 swivel buckets on a pedestal and the jump seats in the back. No lounger, which gives a lot of floor space considering the boat size.
If we take a big cooler, place it right in front of the engine box.
Small storage under the bow seats.
The floor compartment is huge.
Side compartments have quite a bit of room.
Under the dash on both front seats, there's quite a bit of room. good place for extinquisher.
I keep the fenders, emerg kit, bail bucket, etc. all in the engine compartment. Lot's of little places to stuff things.
Depending on what the plan of the day is, I take what's needed. Depending on fishing, tubing, skiing, I don't pack everything in the boat all the time.

The bumpers might fit pretty well in the back seat by the battery, will have to check into that spot. Had put them into the rear of the gunwales for now, but they take up too much space there.

Just bought a 260 Sun Deck which we love. Would like to have some storage at the helm for wallet, keys, pocket knife, cell phone; that sort of stuff. Any ideas? Is there an after-market locker or mesh bag that would fit beneath the wheel? Plenty of knee/leg room down there and it seems like an aidel spot.

+1... I dont know why they designed the whole top surface of the helm on an angle. I would be interested as well if someone has come up with an idea
