what's the world coming to?

So which facility is shela housed in, the women's or the men's. Must be all sorts of unspeakables going on in there...Don't worry Obama will take care of it! Common sense is no longer common, its rare!

OMFG!!!:wow::wow: Yep, we have hit a new low!!! :smt017 How much lower can we go? We are all stupid for letting crap like this happen...:smt018:smt018:smt018:smt018

Why are they calling him a "her". He has male genitalia. I'm glad I moved from Virginia last year...HAHAHA!

Does this give new meaning to a "stimulis package" ???? I guess we can get something for our money other than another failed solar energy product.

Next thing you know, people with "identity disorder" will commit crimes so they can get surgery in prison for free!

Hey,

He/she or she/he is repaying his/her or her/his debt to society and will likely come out as a model citizen. He/she or she/he will be highly educated due to the wonderful libraries and media centers we provide for them. He/she or she/he will be in tip top physical shape due to the magnificent gym facilities we provide for them. She/he or he/she may even be a sought after arteeest due to the prolific state sponsored tattoo parlors we provide for them. And it won't be her/his or his/her fault that she/he or he/she can't get a job because of the mental torment of the state funded gender reassignment surgery, so the life on welfare and food stamps will keep her/him or him/her in fine shape to be a full time occupier/activist for the group of brilliant politicians who so nicely funded his/her or her/his journey.

Too bad...so sad. Guess he/she should have thought about this before the bank robbery he/she committed!

Wait a second... simple solution to this... Where is Lorena Bobbit living these days? I think they need to be bunkmates!

I say let her do her own surgery and if she makes it--fine. If she bleeds to death. Oh well, ship happens.

I manage the maintenance on several detention facilities and we fall under the Texas Commission on Jail Standards regulations. We HAVE to provide ambient air temps between 65 and 85, we have to provide hot water that is 100-120 degrees, and we have to provide all kinds of stuff. I believe in basic things such as water, shelter and a place to go to the bathroom, but if you think for one minute that jail is a really bad place you are wrong. I myself would not want to spend time locked up, but if you order a cheese burger, pizza or Coke it must get to you in a timely manner and plenty hot or cold depending. In addition, you get hot meals, a place to stay, an education etc. all on the tax payer dime, actually millions of dollars. You will have plenty of rights as well. Further, the recidivism rate is 85+%. That means that over 85% of people that have been to jail will go back. I spent 21 plus years in the military. I lived in tents and on the ground for months at a time. I feel that these people will be OK with very basic services. Basic medical care is needed to prevent outbreaks, but there are ones who will get arrested just to have dental work done. And now sex change therapies. Also, there are armies of "Do gooders" out there with PhDs that produce reports on how we need to change the way the jail is and the way the inmates are treated. All in their favor. It is insane.

He got 73 years and the taxpayers been taking care of this person since '83 because of bank robbery and 'other things'. We even gave him hormones and helped him grow t-ts.:smt101 He says he wants to be 'the first' prisoner to get a sex change. The guy is making the news, if he is successful there will probably be book deals and movie offers. I wonder if this is really what it's about.

I was stationed at NKP in Thiland and we were fed food that was "basic" at best we were down to Ice Tea and grape pop.. Were were my rights ????

The people that do right seem to always pay for those that do not.

This goes along with those that have paid their share for the freedoms that millions enjoy daily...I understand.

I guess the biggest problem is those that get screwed (tax payers... good people) do not scream and protest like those that want to do the screwing...

+1 unfortunately, it's not inconceivable in the least.

Certainly creates a hobby when you have 73 years of spare time. I wonder if officials and judges even think about this? Never mind, they obviously don't.

While I don't agree with all the privileges of the incarcerated...I can't imagine anyone is going to intentionally go to jail for dental work, or gender assignment. Really??...u think they're going to get arrested, sit in jail for 71 years so they can come out all that time later as an 80+ year old women. Seriously...yeah that makes a lot of sense. (total sarcasm in case u missed it, and I wouldn't be surprised based on some of the comments) I tried to ignore this thread, but something had to be said. Most of these comments sound as uneducated, illogical, and stupid as the people's actions that put them in jail. I don't understand this condition, but I doubt anyone is jumping on a awaiting list to go through this painful surgery out of boredom in jail. Instead of joking about an issue u know nothing about, and sounding naive and simple...keep ur mouth shut. If u open it, then spend some time learning about the issue, and then make an educated sounding stance on the topic. I don't claim to know much...but I've watched documentaries where very young boys and girls from ages of 3 and 4 were emotionally traumatized thinking they were wrong. I feel sorry for them, and can't imagine what they go through. They have nothing to look forward to but a long life of putting up with uneducated crap like this. I have gay friends that experience the same stuff. What's the world coming too...gays are being accepted by some of us too....to hell in a hand basket I guess!
