How good a chance do i have of selling my 290 between now & spring? Any tips? I love it by the wife doesn't that much. I wish I could have known before I spent all the time and money getting it in tip top shape.

We bought ours in July of 2010. If you pay for storage, move it now before it gets colder and drop the price a bit vs. paying storage all winter till spring. We love our 270DA (290 by todays standards), Mike.

Simple choice, keep the boat, loose the wife...

OK, just kidding.

Its hard to get full price this time of year because who wants to buy something then wait for months to be able to use it. People want instant gratification.

I put my old boat on the market this time last year. Had a few who wanted me to give it away. I sold it March just as the weather got nice. Actually could have sold it 3 times that day.

You can list it now but realize you'll get closer to your price in the spring. By listing it now you get that one that has to have it.

List it now and offer to pay for storage until spring, and maybe throw in 2013 licensing if that applies.

The boats that are selling right now are spotlessly clean and offered at attractive (read that as "aggressive") pricing. The people who are buyers right now are looking to steal a boat. If you can attract their attention by throwing in a few things with it to sweeten the offer, you may bet a bite.

Bought our boat in November. We were just looking for a certain boat at the right price. Soon as we found her we bought her. Really didn't matter the time of year or where we found her. Sold our old boat in October bought the new one in November. You just need the right time and buyer for your boat. Helps that we boat all year round in Ga.

I sold and bought my last two boats in the Winter. Serious buyers are always looking. You have to real about your price.
Your boat must be spotless and your ad must have lots of pics. I created a website to showcase my 290 and featured a link in my ads. Here is the website (it is free).
