If your like me you spent the winter thinking of projects you would do once the shrink wrap comes off. I have a box that I'm just putting the stuff in. So far I have a Garmin rudder position sensor to add to my Garmin auto pilot, and 3 new bilge pumps for the engine compartment. Last fall I was washing out the bilge and noticed that one of the pumps had died, so I decided to replace them all with the new stile Johnson cartridge pump.

What do you have planed for this spring?

Well, we do all of our projects while the boat is inside heated storage!

So our to do list will vary from most...

Install new chartplotter.
Install new VHF radio.
Cruise to and spend a weekend in Cleveland.
Cruise to and spend a weekend in Detroit.
Vermillion.
Kelleys Island Fest.
Christmas in July at Put-In-Bay.
Halloween at the Bay & Kelleys.
Do some perch fishing.
Wash the boat often, maybe wax it once more.
Relax and drink!
Take the dinghy to the beach as often s possible.
Look at carpet options for the salon and master stateroom.
Work less.

That's all that we have planned for now!

Enjoy your summer boating season, everyone!

Cheers

I just put down hardwood floors in the kitchen. I'm not gonna do crap the rest of the year after that project!

Upgrades are all done for the boat. The only thing I am considering is the new smartcraft wifi adapter. Vessel View mobile... https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/gauges-and-controls/gauges-displays/vesselview-mobile/

Beyond that, the boat is good for a couple years now aside from routine maintenance.

Recent upgrades:
Camper canvas
Raymarine E97, A95 displays networked together
Raystar 130
Quantum Radome
Vessel View 4
Dual Amps and Polk MM651 speakers
Cockpit and cabin subwoofer
Infinity fabric flooring for cockpit and cabin

It is a good thing too, as I just updated the avionics in the plane...and I thought boats were expensive!!
IMG_5594.jpg
Garmin GTN650 GPS
Garmin 340 Audio Panel, with headsets at all four seats, stereo input for MP3
Garmin GTX345 ADS-B transponder
Century HSI
Garmin G5 Electronic attitude indicator (not installed yet)

Could have bought a new 17 Boston Whaler Montauk for less than I ended up spending...arrrgghh.

But you left the old KX155 on the secondary.

Good gosh, you put $30K of avionics in a $35K airplane!

How do you like the Infinity? I'm thinking of replacing the cockpit and interior carpet with Infinity.

I love it. Just hose it off every once in a while, looks like new. Down in the cabin, of course I don't hose it off there, but it vacuums fine and protects the carpet from all manner of spills.

Pretty much. (actually is was a $40K plane before the upgrade) However, the avionics will enhance the resale value, more so than what the upgrades did in the boat. With medical reform, it is likely that the airplane will go up in value as well, so while I wouldn't get all my money back if I sold, I bet it would sell for around 50-55K as equipped now, maybe a little more.

Better that than the KX-170. Actually, with the 155, I have dual Glide slope when paired with the GTN 650, so that level of redundancy is nice.

My list isn't as lengthy (or spendy) as some of your lists.........

Remove the Seahawk Christmas decoration from the boat and put it in the garage
drink a beer
wash the boat
drink a beer
Change the oil in both engines and genny
drink a beer
put all the chain on the dock and paint the markers on it that show how much chain is laid out
drink a beer
make sure the chain is fastened securely to the boat (I've never put out all the chain so I don't know that it is secured to the boat)

Replace the fridge that the admiral stabbed

Replace the decking in the bilge under the generator

Install wood veneer over a couple of surfaces to upgrade the look of the interior.

You must have run out of beer by the last step.....either that or you passed out.

Detail the boat (boat was already waxed/polished/sanded, just needs touch up), measure the hole where a new VHF radio would go, find out what size light bulbs I have in the cockpit (order one LED blue and red, see which I like better), try once again to remove zinc on thruster...
