I have a new dock neighbor to share my finger pier with. Went down to the boat today and there was a line running from his boat across the finger pier and tied off on my cleat. The line was stretched tight about ten inches high across the full width of the pier a few feet from the main dock. If I had gone down in the dark, I would have ended up in the water. I would never even lay a loose line across a dock - not even my own private dock.
This is not the first incidence. I have also gone down to find a ten foot step latter taking up the full finger pier with no one around - it stood for two days. He also thinks nothing of hanging his ropes, hose and other items from the hooks I have posted on my side of the piling.
Question, how far do I go to be a good boating neighbor? So far, I have tolerated these things...but the trip line has me a bit bent out of shape.
What would you do?
