What 'type' of boat do I have?

Ok, super noob question coming:

I just bought this boat less than 2 weeks ago. It's a '94 Sea Ray Laguna. 16 feet, side console. No carpet, cushions, seats, or even windshield. It's just an all white fiberglass boat with 2 benches across the middle and a storage compartment in the bow with a 60HP outboard. It's got a very sporty look to it.

People say to me: "Oh, you got a boat! What kind of boat is it?"

What do I say? Is it a 'runabout', a 'ski boat', a 'sport boat', a 'fishing boat', a 'bowrider'?:huh:

What is the most universal description of this type of boat?

I have some good pictures, but no good way to post them.

The SC means it's a Side Console vs. a CC which is a Center Console. I would refer to it as a runabout.

It is a Sea Ray Enough said:lol:

Really it is a Fishing Boat. The Laguna was Sea Rays fishing line for a while, kind of like Ski Ray was their ski boat for a while.

Thanks Chuck. I actually looked at that before I bought it. One thing it doesn't list is the capacity for passengers. The plate inside the boat is so worn down I can't read it. What would it be for this boat? Best guess?

Very Cool boat, It is a Sea Ray Side Console. Cannot say "Fishing" cause there are no pole holders and such.

welcome aboard ! i'm thinken maybe a sportfisher--it's not designed as a fisher as "maddydean" noted,but with a couple poleholders--you got that covered--then add a ski rope ,and thats covered---sooooooo there you have a "sportfisher":thumbsup:
