What are you streamers now doing with your satellite stuff. I have a KVH TV1 that I don’t expect to ever use again. I can leave it up in case of future apocalypse requires it’s use. I can take it down and box it up to clean up the arch a bit. Or I can try to sell it, although not sure anyone really needs this technology with streaming. I see it’s still a product line - $3200 on Defender now.

It seems you pretty much boat within cell or WiFi ranges. If that's the case and you are going to keep the boat for another ten years then sell it. We don't know how long DTV and Dish will be around. I'll keep mine as the service is $7.50 a month; additional receiver to my home's system. And, I get DTV in the Bahamas.

I am replacing the dome with my Starlink array. I am a coastal boater and SL works really well so the streaming services I have at home are now on the boat for free. So that equipment will sit around in a box for a while until I decide to put in the dumpster when I need more space.

Before you jump into Starlink, I saw a new antenna that grabs the best cell signal in the area you are. You but usage, but it seems like $50-60/ month will stream all the stuff you would need. I will try to find that info again.

Does the Starlink or other antenna you mention work on either coast? I am a coastal boater also but west coast.

So I already have the SL, I am one of pioneers on here in the Starlink thread. Have had it for almost two years. I also have a 5G peplink router and a 40G antenna.

But I would love to hear about this new tech?

Here is the Peplink thread: https://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/ubiquity-bullet-m2-vs-peplink-max-br1-mini-wan-wifi.101605/

@Papabrer The two links above explain everything you could want to know about the two. But to answer your question, yes both systems will will work anywhere coastal boater go.

I removed the Sat equipment from my boat. It cleaned up the arch, but is now taking up space in my attic. I have the items listed for sale, but no bites.

Thanks for that input. I’ll probably do the same. Last time I tried to give away (wasn’t even trying to sell it) outdated technology here (6 disc CD changer) I got only laughs.
