What Sea Ray models do you love and why?

Frank W thinks that his 450DA is the best Sea Ray ever built? Say it isn't so!!!!! I am shocked! Just teasing you, Frank.

Perhaps the question should start with, 'Besides the one you own now...'

Anything built from 1995-2008. Can't match the aesthetics (styling, lines) much more spacious with ample headroom than current models.

I always liked the late 80's early 90's styling in any length. It was classic Sea Ray and you could spot one a mile away. I was made aware of the quality of Sea Ray boats when I bought my SRV180, one tough little boat, and it handled well in most conditions. I admit I have owned other brands, but Sea Ray always had the best looking boats back then.

We'll besides the late 330DA which I am partial to due to ownership! I really like the lines on the 460DA that model has aged perfectly. Then ultimate for me is 480DB. Wife likes both too so they are the focus for our next boat.

But it's tough to move on from our 330 now that we have new cockpit seating and camper canvas.

Interesting thread...but what does it say about the brand when Searay enthusiasts have not mentioned one favourite model newer than 2008???

This is what I mentioned to the president of Sea Ray when I had the good fortune to meet him… very nice and well-meaning guy, by the way… that Sea Rays USED TO BE be stylish and distinct from other brands and that you could recognize them from miles away (funny someone else said that, because that's exactly what I told him).

I hope SR Corporate is reading this thread.

In the FWIW category, I think two things have happened to SR boats....first, they're priced themselves out of reach of most people and second, they need to take a step back from these euro designs and get back to what they did a few years back. People loved those older designs. People tolerate these newer designs because that's all that's out there.

I think they are leaving us all behind and going after the European market.
The new fly's are modeled after the Princess', Ferretti , etc.

While I think my 2005 360 is amazing, I will always dream of the 2008 52 sedan bridge I saw last year while on the hook...

This 93 Laguna 13 is pretty awesome. Only 500 were built between 92-94. 25hp Mercury. I put in a stereo with 2 6x9's and a 240w amp that jams. Burns less than 1 gallon per hour riding around, easy to tow, and fits in my garage. Trolling motor and fish finder just in case the bass are biting (usually they're not!).

Also owned a 1996 175BR for 11 years, awesome value. this was my most favorite.

Currently have a 2004 240 Select with 6.2L for family boating seen pictured in the background, also good. Love how it sits in the water and the factory swim platform is low to the water like a inboard ski boat.

My favorite one that i've never owned would either be the 06 250slx or one of the 280 sun sport bow riders. Can't tow those with a 1/2 ton truck safely, so I can't justify one.

Too big ($) for me but love the layout.

I always had a like for the old SRV 360 T-Top.

I saw one gutted and updated in mint condition a few years ago. The owner had replaced the vinyl T inserts with custom made lexan or the like. The roof looked like a Vette on water. It buttoned up tight for snotty weather makeing is very user friendly. I think he had Yanmars. It turned some heads.

the 2006-2008 290's for me!
while my next boat will be a sedan bridge, for now this is the perfect boat for my needs.
i want to tow, and take with me so i can get to destinations quicker than going by boat. but it's still big enough to be on for a few overnights, but not too big while i'm still learning to handle a boat.

My favorite (in sheer excess) was the mid 90's 630SSS; I had the pleasure of being at the helm several times at near 50 MPH, an impressive boat. With that said I really would love to own a P33 Pachanga but with that said again it's really hard to best the all around comfort and function of my 400DA.

My vote goes to the early '00s 410DA. Largest 'dancer SR made with a solid bottom, handles like a dream, and not too big. Larger than that I'd vote for Stan's boat (2007 48DA) or Gary's boat (480DB).

I have a few, and some will probably be in my fleet some day...

-2000-2003 410 Sundancer with Cats - Economical, I can keep my slip, will fit in my buddies boat condo during the winter easily and still maintains 2 staterooms and 2 heads. I could never go back to a single head after having my Carver.

-1997-1999 500 Sundancer - Just look at it!

-2000+ 480 / 500 / 52 Sedan Bridge - Perfect layout, still looks like a boat, suits me perfectly.

I also still always had a soft spot for the older 390 E.C.s and the 1997-1999 Sea Ray 550 Sedan Bridge
