want to change oil this weekend but need oil filter for boat any one know the part #

thanks

Most are the standard remote mercruiser filters above... At one time I crossed referenced the quicksilver filter to a Fram for an Oldsmobile, but I can't remember the number... It was half the price...

Fram should be PH30, Purolator L20049, Wix 51069, Napa 1069. The Merc number Paul above gave is correct. I'd avoid Fram. Some anecdotal reports of problems with Frams bursting a few years ago. Might be nothing but there are plenty of other makes to choose from.

any issues with sierra, or should i pay the extra an go with merc one?

I personally have always gone with Merc or Napa Gold.

Wix makes Napa. Sierra part numbers usually match NAPA part numbers - NAPA carries a full line of after market Merc parts - My guess is that Wix makes the Sierra stuff too. There are apparently 3 or 4 oil filter manufacturers out there - they just label then with different brand names - sort of like auto batteries.

I usually place a big order once a year with Rock Auto for all my filtration needs. Spin-on fuel/water separators (2), cartridge bulkhead-mounted fuel (3), engine oil (2), genny oil (1), lawn tractor oil (1). Rock is also a good source for AC MR43Ts. Even with shipping, it comes to like $5/filter (I get all Wix stuff).
