Ok so my guy finished the boat. However on the opposite side of what needed fixing, when i purchase the boat the dealer wanted to keep it one more night and give me a surprise. That he certainly did!!!
His intentions were to buff the scratches out and he spent twelve hours doing so.
He was so proud of getting rid of the scratches in between the stickers.
Anyway what he ended up doing which is noticeable with the stickers off, is he angle grinded the buffer into the scratches, making big dents!
So all down one side are these massive dents from buffing the scratches out. My repairer says to me that only a straight up idiot would of done what this guy did.
Anyway he's going to charge me only $3500 to do the entire side, which means the gelcoat will all be redone which is excellent and very cheap compared to the $6500 it would usually cost and people here will only do it with two pack paint due to not matching the yellow. Thsi guy is good at matching gelcoat, as you can see.

Check out the images of the dents, and the final pics of the boat repaired. I have left the stickers off because he will take out the sunburnt in images of the stickers when they do the other side and i will then go with the 2011 SUPER SPORT decals as long lines look so much better than tribal which makes it look shorter. (optical illusion).

Why would YOU have to pay your glass guy to fix a problem the dealer caused. Seems to me the dealer would be liable for those charges! Your boat is looking great, but it sure seems like you've got an awful lot invested.

Well i dont consider insurance money and warranty money as an investment on my behalf.
As for the dealer, he sold me the boat around $15,000 cheaper than the same boat with smaller motor sells for in this country and he has closed up shop and left so nothing I can do except for move on with the hand i was dealty and play it to my best ability.
The way I look at it, I have a boat that sells for $40k over here and its the best looking around and I have a total of $34K invested into it. So if in a few years i sell it in this condition and get $30k out of it while the other two for sale in this country who want $41,000 with a V6, and If i got $32k with a V8 then I would of got a few years use for minimal cost, if not maybe a profit.

Anyway, even if insurance and warranty had not of paid out things, I would of paid it myself because i have this habit of making my toys the absolute best they possibly can be. The second I decided to buy a new boat I knew Id be spending a fortune on it, infact i said to myself it will give me something to spend my money on and will give me something to do in the weekends by working on the boat, which costs money but i enjoy when not using it on the water.

End of the day, i am stoked and i think I have an excellent example of this boat.

Looks great! Though he didn't do a very good job matching the yellow at the registration numbers... ;)

Actually I'm curious if you think the front yellow around the rego numbers is different from the side yellow?
You see from what i see, he matched the yellow the same, but then it looks like he buffed the boat after a wet sand and that brought out a older yellow, leaving the repair job looking like the darker yellow from before the buff. Though he tells me he buffed it back first before matching, which i think it looks like it was the other way around, and the redish hue i see in the yellow is just the sunlight.
Id be interested to hear critisicm but at the same time, i think he did an awesome job and its better than two pack paint and the only way to flaw it is by being very picky.

Which an owner does..

They did alot, thjey also did the ski locker and bilge grind and flocoat, the ski locker door, the gelcoat cracks everywhere, the removal of wake tower and put new tower on and cover old tower holes, the mammoth wet sand and buff, new coolers, new storage carpet, new dash and gauges, put a depth finder in, and probably a hundred other things i cant think of off top of my head.
The mechanic also did a ton by trying to remove the slop in steering and finding all the mammoth problems with the engine, but even after a new steering ram actuator it feels like there is alot of slop, but he says it is the best it can get and that when power on with hydralics it should be better but is it run by hydraulics? He says it is best it can get but that makes me ask what the gimble bearing is all about. Could slop be from that? Anyway he put newe risers and manifolds and service and the belt pullies and the shifter cable and steering lines and again so much more.

I am very impressed and cant wait for the other side to be repaired which was only really noticed when the stickers came off. I think it looks alot better without the stickers.

I was actually being silly as you had covered the reg numbers with a yellow streak from MS Paint. I did't see anything that caught my eye in the gel.

HAve a look at all the scratch marks which were buffed out to become large dents. That is right along an entire side. The rest of the boat looks awesome
