I know I'm late to the party but I just wanted to remind everyone that we freely give away "our data". God gave you a birthdate, your parents gave you a name, the government assigned you a social security number. Since then we give it and all other accumulated data points away small pieces at a time.

Ever read those pesky mortgage loan papers? Send your kid off to college(that's a big one)? Did you agree to the terms of use for your Facebook page? Your stock brokerage company knows more about your family tree than you do. Read the 5 page agreement that you signed with your cell phone carrier, your credit card company or even your cable tv provider. All of these companies tell you, in advance, in writing that they can and will share. And we agreed to let them do so.

What did we think they were going to do with it? Like everything else in this world....If ya wanna play, ya gotta pay. Netflix doesn't make money on the $5 a month you send them. They make money from the data you told them it was ok to collect & share.
