What is wrong with my port engine

I recently purchased a 2000 Sea Ray 380 with the 8.1 Mercruisers. The sea trial went well with both engines reaching 4,400 RPM as they were supposed to.
The mechanic did the engines survey and it went well.
After I got the boat I had the shop change the manifolds, change the oil, the fuel filters and other minor things that the surveyor suggested.
I went out yesterday and, while the stb engine was running fine, the port engine, although was running OK at lower RPM, could not go over 3,200 RPM.
Could this be a fuel issue?
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks.

I'd have them check the oil sounds like it could be overfilled if it just started after oil change

I had the same thing happen after putting on new water separators. Must have been air caught in the system because after making a dozen or so attempts to "throttle up" without success, it suddenly began to work properly and hasn't missed a beat since. I first tried cycling the fuel pumps via the ignition switches numerous times to purge, but it apparently did not get all of the air out of the fuel system.

Hopefully that's your problem!
