did some digging and its for when you surf board behind a boat it moves the prop farther away from surfer

I have seen this advertised somewhere. It is made by Volvo for wakeboarding.

They have done it in the past with larger boats similar design, OMC also did it with there sail drive.. It was originally designed for better steering capability. Old trick new technology..
Also when it runs aground does a good job on the props, and what are we trained to do in low water ? Trim up and in this case it drives them further into the ground..
