What do you call the part of the outdrive that is bolted to the transom.The bell houseing attches to it then the upper and lower unit to the bell houseing.the hydraulics to the ram hook to it on the very bottom . its starting to get crusty.Thanks rick

Assuming you mean #1 below, it's called a gimbal housing. If you would post the year of your boat in the sig, or info it would be easier to figure out the generation of Alpha you have.
