What is drive oil, adn what type do I need?

On my bravo three there is a small bottle attached to the engine that appears to be a reservoir. On the top it says drive oil.

can anyone tell me what this does, and what kind of oil I need to put in..It is reading at the add oil line...

That is a gear lube reservoir. You need to add Mercury High-Performance Gear Lube and be prepared - they are very proud of that stuff these days.

BTW, an alarm should sound when it reaches a certain level.

They won't make you an expert (at least it didn't work for me!), but I have spent many hours there.
