What fridge does my 1989 220da have?

After hooking up shore power, I thought it was time to test the fridge for the first time. I fliped the breaker and....NOTHING. I said, okay, no problem, the thermostat must be off...WRONG again. What the hell, where is the thermostat? The bottom of the fridge had a hole in the rear. I removed 4 screws, and removed the fridge. There were no guts to the thing, just a styrofoam box!

What fridge came with my boat. I'd like to replace it?

Nope. I am looking at using a portable ac unit next year.

I really don't see how one would fit in the boat, not much room.
The hatch unit is nice, but when leaving the dock, you have to remove it.

DE-0051 is the replacement fridge. Old model no longer made.

That sounds like you are describing what is known as an "icebox" not a "refrigerator"... my '93 230DA has an icebox not a fridge. Possibly your original is the same?

I got my boat with A/C. It was installed behind the fridge. When I decide to replace the fridge with a new REAL fridge, I'll have to look into clearance issues. A/C and Fridge will probably be done next year.

Yes and apparently with the Danfoss compressors, they're supossedly more efficient and quieter.
