What fluid to use ?

What do any of you use for engine control fluid ? Owners manual calls for propylene glycol or antifreeze. PG $25 a gallon. AF $9 a gallon.

propylene glycol is a synthetic ingredient in antifreeze and ethylene glycol is an ingredient in traditional antifreeze. What is "engine control fluid"?

My engine throttles are electric over hydraulic. With the hydraulics being glycol fluid. Basically i have electronic circuitry from the helm into the engine room. Then it is converted over to the hyd side to actually the throttles. I have a pressurized reservoir that holds the glycol fluid and it is a little low. I would like to top it up with the correct fluid.
