What does everyone think of Sea Ray's current styling in the Sport Cruiser line-up?

In the Sport Cruiser line-up I think for the most part the styling cues such as the exagerated sheer line have gone a bit too far on boats like the 310DA and 330DA. The new 350DA is a good compromise in that regard and they really got it right on the new 270DA. I also wish they would make that fold out rear seat on the lazarette optional. That feature takes up a lot of valuable storage space. Personally, I would rather not have it. The 240DA looks good to me as do the various Amberjack models. The 280DA is actually one of the best looking of the bunch because SeaRay really got it right (in so many ways) with this boat even though it has been around for quite awhile.

I'll probably get used to the designs. The prices are another story.

I still look at 320, 340, 38, 40, & 44 as one of the best looking cruisers around. We have been docked next to (2) 330 and a 310 this season and the style has not grown on me. I dont think they will either. The side profiles of the new style are high at the midships and look disproportionate.

The new 350, i agree, has less agressive styling and this is more appealing.

Just my opinion.

I actually like the newer style. To me the lines flow more and make for a sharper look.

own an 08 330 and must admit thats what made me decide on a sea ray was the agressive sporty lines and like the new interior

I like the new lines. But the interiors are so less roomy because of how they made the couch straight - compared to the equivalent older model boat.

I may be a bit of an antiquarian, but I really like the lines of the late 80s and early 90s dancers, though I prefer the cockpit layouts and interiors of the more modern boats.

I think the 240DA's port side seating still is awkward to sit in while underway.
The new 270 with the relatively "open" layout, I think, is pretty well thought out.

The lack of Transom storage would be an issue, but maybe there is more than seen online in the cockpit?

The 350 I like but think they should have added a second window similar to the 38DA's 3.
The 43DA has the same Single window and it looks somewhat random.

I still really think the 280DA is an all around solid design.

Agree. Regarding the new styles, if I push my finger far enough down my throat.....GAAAAAAKKKKK. I feel better now.

Give me a stripped out late model '70's "T" top. I don't know why but I always found that boat really sexy. By today's standards it would suck with 454's but a couple of Ilmor V10's or Yanmars......Now your talking.

I recently upgraded to the 310 and you do give up alittle storage with the transom seat but theres more storage elsewhere to make up for it. Plenty of storage to fit everything needed in the cockpit.

Yes, but it is nice to lay down below on the straight couch and catch a game ;-)

That's something I could never get my 6'3" body to accommodate on a curved couch.

Not a fan of the new designs, escpecially the 310, 330. I use my storage space in the transom, and would certainly find the newer boats lacking in all respects. Fortunately I plan to hang on to my 340 for quite a while.

You can actually fit quite a few items in the storage area behind the transom seat - granted, it's not as much as if the seat weren't there, but if you like to fish, that is an AWESOME option to have.

We slip next to a 330, SwingDancers boat. It is a nice looking boat thats for sure. And I so wish the 320 had the little extra space behind the couch for storage. And the transom seat is a neat place for us guys to hangout and fish at night when the girls are down below playing scrabble!! And I love the transom hatch!!!

Whats with the small v berths these days?

I very much like the new 310 and 330. Waiting to see a 350 in person, my dealer is getting one in November. It is interesting as I do my research to get a new boat that for nearly the same price as a 350 I can get a brand new 38. I have been told the demand for the new 350 is tremendous and deals are few and far between.

Re: What does everyone think of Sea Ray's current styling in the Sport Cruiser line-

I was on the 270DA the other day at our show room and I can say that they have really made some big improvements over the older and newer style 260DA's. Good job Sea Ray. Great styling, cockpit/cabin layout and improved access to the mid cabin. Hopefully they figured out the trim/balance issues with the new 270DA as well.

I like the current designs well enough, but over this summer I have many times had folks in FAR newer Sea Ray's dock next to us and compliment us on the look of our 84 SRV

I liked the 310 design so much I bought one. One of the main design improvements is the walk thru windshield . The admiral felt that she might fall in the water traversing the narrow sides of the 320 or 300 . The transom seat area is great for storing fishing rods and shoes. When anchored swimming is the big activity for the kids, the transom seat is great place to keep an eye on them.. It has drink holders nearby and the stereo controls are also right beside the seat. I think that the transom seat will be a SeaRay signature feature on most of the new Dancers.
The sharp lines and aggressive design of the hull makes for a good view when plaining, the bow dosent seem to rise as sharply as on some models. The 310 cuts waves & large wakes without soaking the passengers, the splash seems to pushed far to the sides of the boat so you dont drive thru the spray.
I think that the only thing I absolutly hate is the canvas design. In the evening we have to put up the glass and canvas to escape the mosquitos, the cockpit glass actually fogs up from the lack of ventilation and the air is hard to breath ! You cant sit on the back seat cussion unless you are 4' tall as the sloping canvas hits your head, this is the biggest seat in the cockpit. The design seems more estetic than practicle and I have no Idea why SR dosent see this huge design flaw. I see alot of SR's with modified camper backs with lots of screens and more windows. I just received a quote of 4g's to modify my 310 so the spending continues .
