I'm finally gonna pull the trigger and order a SeaDek swim platform pad for my boat. I think this will be a nice addition and improve the comfort and safety of the platform as it's becoming the place where my 5 and 7 year old like to hang out, play, and jump off of while at anchor. I've narrowed it down to 3 colors from all the samples I ordered (notice little colored squares). I have one I'm leaning towards, but kinda wanted to get some other opinions. Anyway, I'll try to attach the pics below (first time doing this), let me know what you think?

I have the same color scheme on my 185...I'm really interested to see how yours looks when done because I want to do this as well

Go with the grey. The first color is way too light and the middle color blends in too much for your boat.

I have he exact same boat, so please publish pics when you have installed it. BTW, I'm not good at colors, but I think I would go with the grey.

My first thought was the middle color. seems to match your carpet and trim better. I want to do the same thing. I was thinking grey for my boat since I have the navy blue with grey accent color scheme. So thinking that way, I would like to know what colors you have on the rest of the boat before I gave you a final opinion.

I have the same color scheme in my 195 Sport. I'm thinking about adding SeaDek to mine, too.

I would NOT do the grey. I think it would be too hot. I know on my boat there is a considerable difference between the color of the white/ivory part of the vinyl and the grey accent color. The grey SeaDek is even darker.

I'm leaning towards one of the teak combo's. I know it won't match or accent the boat color, but I really like the look of that best (I think!!).

No matter what color you decide, please post pics of the finished project.

My practical vote: put the samples in the sun (or very near a light bulb) and let 'em bake a couple of hours, then choose the one that stays coolest to protect the little feet and tushes that will be on it constantly.

My aesthetic vote: going solely by the photos, to me the lightest and darkest take on cooler/bluish tinges that seem kind of off against the warm hue of the hull, so I'd choose the middle shade. If your darkest vinyl is blue or bluish, though, the darker one might look pretty sharp.

I have the dark grey sea deck on my 19spx and it does not get that hot in the sun. I would say a little warm but not hot enough to be uncomfortable to walk on or sit on with bare skin. After a season with it I really like the product. It is great underfoot on the swim platform and a highly recommended upgrade.

I would go with the middle color as it goes with your current colors. In regards to Seadek getting hot...it does not as it is a foam based product. I have the teak Seadek. The downside is the dark colors have the potential to burn if surrounded by white gel coat. I also have vinyl carpet, which does get hot but not a factor if not always in direct sunlight.

I've had gray and teak colored on two different boats. the teak would get a little warmer in the sun but not enough to stop me from getting that color if it matched my boat color scheme better.

This 220 came with the darker grey as a factory option and I'm fine with it.

Wow, you guys are making this hard :smt001 What I was originlly planning to do was find a color that matched one of the vinyl colors and go with that, but none of the seadek colors matched any of the vinyl. Before making the original post I had narrowed it down to the two on the right and was leaning heavily towards the center one. My reasoning was it resembles the carpet color and would look like an extension of the cockpit flooring while also kinda blending in with the pearl of the gelcoat. If it isn't going to match, I figured it'd be better for it to sorta "disapear" and blend in. I was also concerned about the dark grey being warmer in the sun, although that grey would really pop. I think it may be worthwhile to pull the boat out in the sun this weekend and re-check the colors in natural day light since that's where they'll be used and could also check temp differences in colors. I figure either color will look just fine in the end I just tend to get anal over this stuff. I will certainly post pics when finished as asked. I will also add some pics below of exterior colors someone had asked to see (blue two tone). Thanks again.

If you put them out in the sun this weekend, it would be great if you had an IR thermometer to measure the temps of each color. If by chance you can do that, would you mind also including the teak and black sample, too?

Actually after seeing the samples along with the hull color, I'll change my vote to the middle color sample. Good luck. Really love my SeaDek and get compliments on it all the time.

Changing my mind to the middle color too. It looks like it will blend in quite a bit so you'll be going more for comfort than aesthetics. I would consider doing the middle in a faux teak pattern the lightest color for the lines.
