I want to register my boat in the Norwegian ship register. And they demand the boat to be deleted from any old register first.
And they need original "deletion certificate" with apostille stamp to approve.
I only have a copy with simple "I hereby certificate this to be a true copy...." stamp.

So need a new one. But I see that Coastguard have so many branches. What branch deal with the boat registry?

Link anyone?

Jan,

It sounds like you have a document with a Notary's stamp. In the US that is considered to be equivalent to the original.

Vessel Documentation is handled by US Coast Guard, National Vessel Documentation Center in Falling Waters, West Virginia. Here is a link to their home page: http://www.uscg.mil/hq/cg5/nvdc/

In the US, government documents typically do not have apostille stamps affixed to them. There are some exceptions such as land deeds, but things like bills of sale, titles etc. are typically witnessed by a Notary and then stamped with the Notary's stamp.

Thanks.

For what I can see you have to return the original certificate of documentation to get Letters of Deletion...
My maritime authority states they need both with apostille to register my boat...

Since I only have a certify copy of the certification of documents I guess the boat can already be deleted in the registry for all I know...
Just have to see what they answer in my mail.

Can someone please help me with the form to USCG?

I guess the one I need are: Credit Card Form

I need:
-Deletion letter.
-Copy of Abstract of title.
-Certified copy of Certificate of documentation w. seal.

Total of $25 + $15 + $4 + $4 = $48.

But can't see what the Application fees are?
And what about the shipment fee?

Fee scedule site.

You should only need coast guard de registration if the vessel has been registered in it. That is normally only if the boat has a lien it is registered.

Else normally "State" de-registration is normally the only thing needed.
