Our boat lives at the Brownsville Marina in Washington, just about due west from Seattle.

Brownsville is about the best deal going in our area. We own a 42 1/2' by 18 1/2' boathouse. With a boathouse you pay for the footprint of the house, not by the size of the slip. I have two 30 amp power services that are not metered, so I keep the thermostat at 72 degrees year-round. Our total bill is $262 per month, or $3144 per year. Brownsville has a Texaco fuel dock, but no dry storage or hauling facilities.

This compares to the other very nice marina locally, Port Orchard, that gets about $300 for a covered 36' slip per month, and has metered power. I had my 300WE there for about seven years. It also has a fuel dock, but no other hauling services.

At a private Yacht Club in Maryland.
This is a "working" Yacht Club - meaning we do all the work required, cut grass, maintenance, fund raisers, etc.
$200 per year for a 12' x 35' slip.
$150 per year membership fee.
Water included.
Electric is metered and last bill was .15 $/KW.

All totals up to about $1,300 to $1,500 minimum per year which includes the affairs that we need to attend and work at.

WOW...
It sounds like most of you guys are getting amazing deals compared to what we pay on Cape Cod MA. I will pay for the 2008 season $195 / ft. $195 X 44 = $8,580, plus a town mooring sticker = $150 plus electricity. In the end it will cost me a bit over $9,000 for May - Oct slip.

We pay $3,725 per year for an uncovered slip, including unmetered electric and water, winter storage on the hard, and one haul/splash per season. The marina sells gas and has good mechanics on staff, but no pool, restaurant, etc.

Community marina mid-Chesapeake (just south of Annapolis) for our recently purchased 30 foot weekender - 325 per year dues includes slip, water, electric, and - if you need it - a pretty good ramp. Winter storage at a nearby marina, including shrink wrap to the waterline, is about $1500 plus any winterizing or mechanical work you want done.

$950 mooring and storage is $333.I'm happy with that.

$4200 for a 40' slip in Baltimore. Marina is close to Canton and great food/drinks. It also includes a parking space, an incredible gym (I have heard although never actually used...), pool, hot tub, bathhouse, 3 "free" hort hauls, tiki bar, West Marine within walking distance and unlimited window shopping since MM docksthe latest greatest there for us to salivate over...

We're on base, and the marina is very basic...no pool/bar/ships store/food. They do sell gas (averaged $2.95 for most of last year) and just got the pumpout fixed (after two years without). They also recently built a small but modern shower / head complex.

Our cost - $1776 for a 12 month contract. That includes the slip, water/power, and a spot in dry storage for the winter. Haulout is extra, around $300 for us, splash is free. They also have a pretty good short haul/wash deal at $120 for us. All these costs are "per foot" so the smaller boats pay less and the larger ones more.

We have a great slip, great security (we're on base, after all) and great slipmates. Even the blow boaters around us are ok (if a bit wierd). Pretty much all of us are active/former/retired military or at least DoD civil service, so it's a good bunch.

$0 since we trail and launch, and store over the winter in the garage.

My friend pays $7500 for a plain old slip in Fairfield CT. No amenities. I believe electric and everything is extra. Boat is 28'

Another friend is down in Stamford CT somewhere, I think his is around $10k, but he has some amenities. Dont know the specific details. His boat is a 30'.

Last year we paid $1745 for a 10' by 25' covered slip. The marina we slip at is privately owned but on a Corp of Engineer's lake. The marina was asking the Corp for a rate hike. They asked for a hike of up to 10%. At this time I do not know what they will charge. The Four Winds Marina is supposed to be the 5th largest marina in the U.S. I believe we have 815 slips. Last March there were only 5 available. Indiana does not have an abundance of water/lakes.

summer slip (42' x 17.5') = $3831 - park behind your boat, short walk to pool and bathrooms. winter = $1672 (includes haul/launch and powerwash). no charge water, electric is metered. during the winter, the boat is on land behind my slip.

isnt it funny how many of us try to justify (nice marina, pool, clean bathrooms, etc.) overpaying for this "sport" that we love and cant live without! it's sort of like being in an abusive relationship.

for me, it's the winter that i cant justify at all. summer is worth every penny, but i am definitely being sodomized for winter storage. "thank you sir may i have another." relax - i'm not complaining. just making an observation...

$4,000 / summer season. 50'x16' well, floating dock. Includes dockside pump-out, water, elec, cable TV, 3 parking passes and 2 season tickets to the amusement park. 3rd-party Wi-Fi at add'l cost

$5,400 / winter. 1/2 of a 70' indoor heated well. Includes water, elec, dockside pumpout, cable TV, Wi-Fi. Attached heated 2 cargarage available at add'l cost.

This is a very interesting thread. What most of you pay a year is what we pay per month to rent a slip or rent a rack. Granted we have year around use of the facilities which makes a big difference but we are still looking at $12-15 per foot per month and the marina's measure from outdrive propellers to tip of forward rail or anchor so a 24 footer measures 27.
