What are you doing this weekend?

Hey Bill,

while the sun was out it was not bad once the wind died down. Now with the sun setting it is a little chilly. It is supposed to warm as the weekend progresses. Hope you get some good boat time and yes, I hope we can have decent weather here on out. Kellys is actually DEAD. Two boats in port side marina on a holiday weekend = crazy! Seaway has a few more boats (6 I think). I am sure tomorrow it will get busier with warmer/nicer weather. Would love to catch up to you guys soon and talk about the north channel.

Have a SAFE & FUN weekend Guys & Gals. :smt001

I'm stuck with the freeloaders and a soggy & cold weekend. :smt089 . :smt100

Belive it or not she wants to go to detroits metro beach where her son and his wife and her three brats will be.Its not that warm but at least i will see some boats as mine wont be dipped untill next saturday.today i rewaxed the areas where i put new stripes on the boat, installed new exhaust hose hangers, made snap straps for the rod holders because the downrigger poles are just too fat to stay put dusted off the rest of the boat, crwled into a cris craft bilge to look at a raw water pump for a guy who is too big to do it himself, brought all tools not needed home ,put the fresh clean cockpit carpet back on the boat, adjusted the shaft packings, went to the movie store, weeded some of the garden.ok im done,i think.Glen

Well, I got out today. The Admiral stayed home, still building her strength back up after the op. But had a friend who's wife was away for the weekend, so he came for a run out. This is the last weekend of autumn here, an the weather has been superb.

There was a lot of boats out today, and a few people actually swimming, I put m hand in the water, it wasnt cold, but not enticing enough for me.

We took a run about 3km out at 20-22kn's then ran around slowly at about 5kn, looking for whales. But no show. There was a fairly good swell running, but no wind, so was reasonably comfortable.

No whales, lot of bird life. Positive we came across a penguin, which I couldn't quite fathom, as I am positive the nearest colony is up in Sydney Harbour which is a long run.

We headed back into Jibbon Beach, had oysters and prawns for lunch, enjoyed the sun for a couple of hours. Then did another run out the front, then back into th marina for around 4pm before the temperature started to chill down

I started to teach the wife to drive the boat. I lose good weekends on the lake because I'm the only one who can back the trailer and dock the boat and hate holding up the line at the ramp trying to do both myself. She did good getting used to adjusting the trim, low speed steering (wanders like a sob), and throttle control; but was too windy to actually get to try docking. Here she is.

Then I got the nu-finish out and scrubbed the boat from bow to stern, looks pretty good, but still need to get something to get the stains out of the gel coat but that will be a project for the fall I think...
