What are these ground ring terminals?

I'm slowly working through a new to me 1995 Bowrider with the 5.7 and an Alpha. While replacing a leaking exhaust manifold gasket I noticed there were 3 small ring terminals that are not connected to anything. Would anyone have any idea if it is normal for these to be left floating? These are all 3 right around the distributor cap. All of them go into a harness not far away from the ring terminal.

The engine runs pretty well, a little hard to start all the time, but I attribute that to the carb and will be addressing that in the next round of fixing up stuff.

Hard to make out the wire color in the photos. Can you tell us what color each is? Original boat wiring is color coded in the engine harness.
