What’s this?

Does anybody know what these are used for? We have a 2011 310 with the full camper canvas and I found two Sunbrella stripes with opposing Velcro fasteners on them.

Are they covers for the bimini frame where it contacts eisenglass?

I had these covering the Bimini top support tubes running from the arch out to the end of the top.

Yep... they go on the spreader support poles that come off of your hardtop.

Without them in place, the stainless bimini supports can burn (in the heat of direct sunlight) and or scratch the eisenglass material that is adjacent to/rubbing up against them. Use them or likely start to see scratches/possible discoloration in your eisenglass.

But if the are on the spreader support off the arch, they never touch the eisenglass..

Then I would say that, in your case, they are for "decorative" purposes only--no requirement to use.

Perhaps they help prevent some wear (rubbing) between the bar and the fabric top material by providing additional barrier but I'm, guessing more for cosmetic reasons.

Thanks for all the input, seems like a waste of $$ to me. Searay could have reduced the price by $2 without them. Lol

I wouldn't be so quick to discard... my bimini/extension has a coating of some sort on the underside for water proofing. I would bet without the protection, friction/heat would damage that and begin to leak.
