Thanks, now I know what they are for; but I still don't see a reason for having them.
Without them in place, the stainless bimini supports can burn (in the heat of direct sunlight) and or scratch the eisenglass material that is adjacent to/rubbing up against them. Use them or likely start to see scratches/possible discoloration in your eisenglass.
But if the are on the spreader support off the arch, they never touch the eisenglass..
Perhaps they help prevent some wear (rubbing) between the bar and the fabric top material by providing additional barrier but I'm, guessing more for cosmetic reasons.But if the are on the spreader support off the arch, they never touch the eisenglass..
