I am looking to buy some gellcoat for my 2001 400DB. last summer my dock wheel broke loose from the rotted dock boards and flipped up making some deep scratches into the gellcoat and I have s amll chip in the edge of the bridge steps. all need to be repaired but I want to do it with the factory gellcoat so that I am not trying to match the color as I have tried to do that on boats before and it never works out quite right.
If anyone has any place that they get the correct Sea Ray colors from it would be helpful.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

You can send an inquiry on Searay's website about your gelcoat color and they will get right back to you with the color number (don't forget to get the bilge gelcoat color # as well). Then go www.spectrumcolor.com and order your gelcoat - anything from a small repair kit to larger quantities...

Thanks for the reply. I assume that I will need the hull ID number and quote that with them when I inquire.
I can call them in the morning. I have had good luck with Sea Ray customer service out of Merit Island.

Yes, you need to start with the HIN number and get the Sea Ray color code/ part number. There are about six different shades of 'Arctic White'. Spectrum can then provide you with an exact color match. Keep in mind gelcoat has to be shipped via ground (hazardous material) and they are out in Washington State so its typically a week to get the stuff delivered to the Boston area.

Do you know if I gan get the correct color gel for my 1988 sundancer?

Thanx Carter. I am going to call them today. The color on the orig build sheet that I got from the orig owner, says color-SAND. Thanx again.

Let us know how it turns out. I didn't call, I just sent an inquiry in via their website and got an email back the next day with the answer. I started a short email dialogue with the guy about a couple of other questions and he was very pleasant and helpful.

I emailed sea-ray yesterday with a lot of questions on my gelcoat color and code, and availability, engines, props, speed and RPMs and drive ratios. They emailed me today with my gelcoat color (sand) the numeric code for ordering through spectrum, gave me thier phone # and who to talk to. I called spectrum today, they had the gel in stock, and I will have it in 4 days. They also told me what engines I have, drives and ratios, what props were on the boat when it left the factory in Knoxville in 1988, what speeds and RPMS to expect under given loads based on my factory installed convienence packages, I.E. heat, air gennie, central vac, raritan ice maker, built in coffee maker, microwave, and built in blender. They rock! Cant belive a boat manufacturer can still support thier product after 22 years ! Cant say enough about Sea-Ray. This is my third sea-ray, and would not want another brand. Also, thanx to all at CSR for help, information and guidence. Dave
