We went fishing last Sunday, unfortunately unsuccessfully.

On the way back in, we were still around 7-8 mile off the coast, when we spotted a whale tale finning. We slowed and stopped the required distance.

However someone forgot to notify the whales about the 200M rule. The next time they surfaced was beside the boat! And they swam against the current to do that.

They stayed with us for 30 mins, most of the time within 5M of us, we started with 3 and ended with 6 whales, they were swimming upside down under the boat.

What an absolute magical time. Awesome. That experience beats putting fish in the boat. Thanks for sharing the video.

When I see pics and videos of whales in close contact with humans it makes me wonder if they are trying to establish some sort of "relationship" with us. There are just too many contacts like what you had the pleasure of enjoying to make me believe they are accidental.

Thanks a lot for sharing the pics and videos

What a great experience.
