Wet slip v. dry dock

Nice work! Your post is an excellent example of why I keep coming back to read your excellent quality content that is forever updated.

I've never seen a dry stack boat that did not have rack rash. It is really next to impossible to pick boats up and stack them without an occassional nick. I probably would not dry stack for that reason alone. We also use our boat as another room in our house which you can't do conveniently if the boat is not in the water all of the time.

Just finished our 5th year in dry stack. I make it a point to get to know the staff and bs with them whenever I am down there. Most of the people treat them like crap. Therefore, we get preferred treatment (tips help too!). Other than the occasional dirty shoe, no damage from their handling of the boat. Okay, a couple times I had to peel some off a little dock rash, but nothing permanent. Having it out of the sun and elements when we aren't using it has kept the hull (of both boats) and canvas pristine.
