I’m trying to do a better job of keeping water out of my bilge. Do you guys have a suggestion for a good small wet/dry vac that can be used to help clear the water out, while I search for some of the sources.

Don’t have any significant water intrusion. Installed the DYI version of the Arid bilge system, Works great and it’s always dry now. Especially helpful in tracing if I have some drips of oil, coolant etc.

When selecting a model get one that the bucket the water goes in does not have anything connected to it, no power cord, no hose, it makes it inefficient to get the vac emptied to continue on. Pop it off, empty it, put back on and vac. My old one had the hose on the bucket and it was a pain…

I use this one. Fits in my dock box.

Thanks, I’m going to give the bucket top a try. Makes a lot of sense for a boat application

I have the small couple of gallon wet/dry from Home Depot. Works great, easy to store. The only downside if there is in some areas the hassle of carrying it outside to empty. I have a long bilge which with any significant amount of cleaning can accumulate several drainage feet of water just below what a bilge pump can pick up - if that make sense.

Just ordered a battery powered pump which I will use in a bucket with a hose running outside to eliminate the trips to empty the wet/dry overboard. Will be able to just dump it in the bucket at my feet and it gets pumped overboard. Will let you know how that concept works out.

Depending on how much water you are contending with I switched from the corded micro to the Milwaukee battery powered wet and dry. Nice not having to deal with the cord and the hose and attachments stow nicely.

Ditto. Happens to be the brand we use for a common battery eco-system. Not too big/heavy to carry when full. And that model blows, too.
