I was helping load a sofa in a boat and I landed in the water. I had my BB on me. Water was fresh water and warm. Phone would not come on. Put under a running hair dryer
on low for 7 hours and it worked again.

I would also leave it in a jar of rice overnight, to help draw out any remaining moisture.

Trade it in before the corrosion gets bad. I have the LifeProof case on my phone and it has saved the phone several times. Well worth $80.

My wife dropped her iPhone into the lake for 45 minutes or so. My brother in law fished it out and she immediately called me from it to tell me she found it. Unbelievably it still works fine today.

I can tell you from experience that if you drop any phone (that's turned on) in saltwater it's fried, done, kapput.

The phone will have indicators that show it has been exposed to water. But can work for quite sometime. The key is drying it out before you turn it on.
