Two full seasons on these plugs so I figure it's time to replace them. So I pull them and get the Denso part number(see below). For the life of me I can't find any equivalent and I'm not even sure that the WB plug that comes up is right b/c my generator (7.0 BCGD - LP [low profile]) is not listed in the searches I do on the typical WB parts websites.

The only cross reference I can find is at this site...

http://www.sparkplug-crossreference.com/

which gets me a $1.50 NGK plug (at Rockauto), but I can't verify it with any other site out there. If I search on a close (but not the same generator model #) I get a "Westerbeke" plug for about $9 each.

Here's what I took out...

Take the old one to a real auto parts store, like NAPA. They can cross reference it.

Went through the same thing a while ago.

Here's an X-ref link.

Sorry. I did not see the link. I'll see what I have at home. I have three plugs at home from my 4.5. I don't know what they are but I was looking at them yesterday. I used the site you referenced.

Thanks David...that's the same site I referenced in the initial post. It would be great to double check that with another site, but I can't find one. I'm going to call a WB dealer and see if I can get some info. When I was doing the generator install, a dealer in Wisconsin was very helpful, so I'll try there.

NAPA should be able to get them. Judging by the red paint, I'd call those originals...

Yep. Original. Generator installed Fall of 2013.

It took me a LOT of digging, but I found my gennie engine to be a marinized Mitsubishi small truck motor. Here is a site I found that could Xref damn near everything.

I found FPG when I needed a cap and rotor and was damned if I was going to shell out a mortgage payment for them via W’beke. I backed the spark plugs into the equation when I found the rotor.

Nice folks to work with.

If you go the NAPA route, make sure you go to a real NAPA or equal. The one near me might as well be a Walmart when it comes down to product knowledge.

Thanks David. I'm going to try a the WB dealer first and see where that gets me.

The fgpstore link is blank...Is there another contact for them?

Ron,

For what it is worth, I took your part number W16EPR11 and ran it through NGK and came up with BPR5ES11. Then I did a reverse look up on the Denso site and got:

Spark Plug results for BPR5ES-11.

W16EPR-U11 The U stands for "U" shaped electrode which is something that allegedly improves performance. They are $2.30 at Advance Auto Parts.

NGK 7634 and NGK BPR5ES11 are the same plug. So now that we have collectively saved you $20 what are you going to do with it?

Called WB vendor in Wisconsin. The guy actually gave me the NGK # BPR5ES. I was shocked. I asked him about the 11 designation, which came up in the cross reference site, and he said it had to do with the gap and nothing else.

Thanks for all the research guys!!

Also, 401 RS12YC from Champion.

Re: previous post......That's what I have downstairs.

Interesting...BPR5ES is what the WB guy told me. That translates to NGK 7734. BPR5ES11 translates to NGK 7634. I'm going to get what the WB guy told me and throw the "11" out the window. Mitsubishi engine, I'll stick with the Japanese plugs.

As for the extra $20 in my pocket, I'm going to Disney Land.

THANKS AGAIN to all the internet detectives out there!
